Poverty- Crumbling humanity since its existence

Poverty has been around long enough since the existence of mankind. Poverty and mankind go together like a hand in a glove where the glove is filled with disparity and an absence of basic amenities. Poverty is defined by the dictionaries as a state of living with insufficient possessions and low income. As a human being, there are certain objectives that need to be fulfilled that include food, shelter and clothing to ensure a proper state of living and that includes providing the basic needs required to get through life on daily basis and poverty contradicts that very objective. It is one of the biggest problems in humanity and it is nowhere near being eliminated. The United Nations defines poverty as "Fundamentally, poverty is a denial of choices and opportunities, a violation of human dignity. It means lack of basic capacity to participate effectively in society. It means not having enough to feed and clothe a family, not having a school or clinic to go to, not having the land on which to grow one's food or a job to earn one's living, not having access to credit. It means insecurity, powerlessness and exclusion of individuals, households and communities. There is high chances of susceptibility to violence, and often implies living in marginal or fragile environments, without access to clean water or sanitation". if we as the people let poverty take its course on society, the purpose of being human is denounced and the resultant effects on society is irreversible. It illustrates the failure of equality and co-existing as fellow human beings with no bounds and limitations.
